What is the Clark Fork Watershed?
The Clark Fork River and its tributaries drain most of western Montana. The upper river and headwaters were heavily impacted by wastes from over a century of mining. Today, the area is the largest Superfund environmental clean-up site in the nation.

May 30th, 2008:
We are seeking teachers and students (graduate, undergraduate or high school) to participate in an exciting 2-week summer program working in paid positions as Butte Reclamation Evaluation System Field Evaluators.
CFWEP recently assisted in the development of a new edition of PitWatch, an informational publication about Butte's Berkeley Pit. Hard-copies are available around Butte, and you can also read PitWatch online at www.pitwatch.org.
