Project Leader Joe Griffin, BA, MS (Geology)

Joe initiated CFWEP in 2003 by creating a team that included Butte teachers, scientists and Technical Outreach staff. From initial funding of the pilot project up to the present, Joe has been CFWEP's most productive volunteer – leading field trips, visiting classrooms, and providing program leadership and technical expertise to connect youth to their environment.

- Project Officer and Hydrogeologist for the Department of Environmental Quality since 2004
- Chair, World Museum of Mining Education Committee since 2001
- Environmental consultant since 1986
- Involved in environmental educational outreach since 1993
- Winner of the 2002 Montana Environmental Education Association “Resource Professional of the Year” Award
