Greg Mullen & Rich Prodgers

A large amount of CFWEP’s success can be attributed to our professional scientists who volunteer and are willing to go that extra mile. The Montana Natural Resource Damage Program’s (NRDP) Greg Mullen and Rich Prodgers of Bighorn Environmental are two shining examples. Beginning in December of 2006, Greg and Rich volunteered countless hours helping to develop and deliver a high school classroom and field unit on Silver Bow Creek history and restoration to roughly 100 environmental biology students at Butte and Anaconda high schools.

The project kicked off in late February with Butte High students harvesting approximately 1,500 willow and cottonwood cuttings and was completed this May when their Anaconda counterparts planted all of the cuttings along with another 200 containerized trees in the newly restored floodplain of Silver Bow Creek at locations near Ramsay and Anaconda. Greg and Rich were there every step of the way and weren’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

In addition both Greg and Rich are on board to present at our third-annual Upper Clark Fork Summer Science Academy teachers' workshop, and they have been some of our most consistent volunteers on school field trips to date. Thanks, Guys!!
